I have been away for the last few weeks working on a commission for a comic strip about pest control. I used to work as a technician for a pest control company (ALPECO) where we exterminated primarily bed bugs and cockroaches using non-chemical-based products. My former boss has now decided to raise awareness to this system of extermination, which in no way endangers humans (unlike most sprays), with a monthly comic strip.
Here is page one. I have not uploaded the version with dialogue due to copyright (I'll check with my boss if I can publish online his completed comic) but I can easily summarise the tale so far.
Oscar Bug writes to his family saying he has survived the move from his old mattress home with his hundreds of friends and relations, despite his suitcase looking too clean. The flight was very cold but he survived, and he woke up in an open suitcase on a new bed. He was about to make it his new home when he realised exterminators had previously used chemical sprays, and he hides in the deepest part of the suitcase and waits to move to a new destination. But out of the gassy haze of the chemical wasteland comes a lone survivor bed bug. Her name is Claire. She's pretty great.
Gripping stuff as you can see, but if I get a paycheck I'll do most things.
